I picked up a pretty nice 01 5.0 swapped Ranger. Whoever did the swap did a really good job as it looks factory. Motor, tranny, & rear end are supposed to be out of a 96 Explorer. Torque monster headers, 2.5 exhaust through borla mufflers out the rear. Also has a shift kit (maybe just j mod) as the owner bought it from the guy who actually did it. I drove it home 2 hours & it did great. I have a few questions. What is being done for tuning these things. I see I can get an SCT tuner & they come with some canned tunes, are they worth it? Is there a tune guru for these engines? My last little truck had a mega squirt 3 & it was pretty awesome for tuning. Also had a sct x4 for my powerstroke with custom tunes. The truck runs good but isn’t really fast & seems to take longer to downshift than I like. Is a set of springs & a factory HO cam a nice street combo that’ll run off the 96 ECU?

Welcome to TRS :)

Sweet ride (y)

Not sure in your area but shops that can do Dyno Tunes will know tuners in the area or may do it themselves

Also Google: Speed Shops

Should get some hits, and they will know of local tuners

Very cool looking truck.
Are you onTikTok? I've seen a few 5.0 swapped Rangers on there.
