I have an 04 XL with the steel 15" wheels, and want to do a mild 2-3" lift and go to 31 or 32" tires. Has anyone run bigger tires on these wheels, or do you need to go to a different wheel? If so, anyone have pics?

I plan on doing something simular.

I have a set of 31x10.5x15 AT's on factory 15x7 rims. They fit fine, and don't alter the way they wear.

They do have a little bulge, but one positive aspect of that is, it'd help protect the rim.....

31's or 32's will be fine on the factory rims as long as you stay in the 10.5" wide range (32x10.5's CAN be found, you just need to look).

some will tell you you can go wider on the stock rim, but for the sake of tire wear, i wouldnt. plus it just looks goofy.
