so im going to be buy a body lift. the performance accessories 3 inch for 08 ranger. i know that this isnt a suspension lift but im coming across some questions.

1. Do i need longer shocks for a body lift?

2. will Bilstein heavy duty shocks work for my truck with or without the lift?

http://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm?mode=results&selected_model=4033&selected_year=2008

those are the shocks i keep getting when i search them for my truck

its those or the rs5000 by rancho cause im not gonna buy the 9000xl unless i get the myride remote but im not a baller and cant afford it :lame:

thanks to all who answer!!!!!!

1. A bodylift is just that......it lifts the body away from the frame. Has NOTHING to do with suspension.

2. Bilstein Heavy Dutys (the yellow and blue ones) are a GREAT shock!! You should do those no matter if you lift it or not!! Alot of times, aftermarket companies don't list the years it'll work on correctly... You can look up '03 shocks(4x4? 2wd coil-spring?? 2wd torsion bar???) and it'll fit your truck. Only thing that actually changed from '07 to '08 is the torsion keys to give a 1-1.5" front drop and the rear blocks were downsized from 2.5" to 1.5".

Notes: I bodylifted an '08 a few years ago and something you've probably found out is that there is no "kit" for an '08. BUT....ANY 98+ kit will work on the '08. The only real difference is the fuel filler vent tube. A trip to home depot for a short chunk of tubing, tow hose barbs, and a couple hose clamps cured that issue. SummitRacing.com sells a bodylift listed a 98-00 for only about $150-175 and it'll fit your truck just fine.
