This hose is cracked and the part number is faded too bad to read. The only legible writing is "Motorcraft". I would like to replace with a Motorcraft replacement, not just any hose that will fit. Does anybody know the part number for this hose? It's on a 2001 Ford Ranger 2.5L.

Thanks in Advance,
Tim Gentry

My credo
WHY DO I KEEP BUYING DODGES?!?!?
I dont know what its called (I think it'd be a "breather hose"), but it does essentially the same thing as the hose on your PCV valve... instead of venting oil fumes in the atmosphere (bad), it sends them into your engine to be burned up (yay?). It should be cheap to replace; I bought a section of hose at O'Reilleys by the foot for a couple bucks - if that. If you can, pull it off and take it in with you. It's not going to matter if you buy an OEM replacement or just a section - the curve doesn't look too sharp and any shape it retains is probably just from being in that shape for a few years. NAPA also makes hose as well if you'd prefer that route.

valve cover breather hose. Buy bulk hose and replace it. Ford will cost too much.

Went to the local Ford dealership and purchased the hose. (OEM# F77Z-6853-BA) Was only $11.16 with tax, small price to pay to keep all replacement parts under the hood Motorcraft. Just something about new OEM parts just makes you feel all warm inside!:headbang:
