Nice shots! Makes me want to grab my gun and backpack then disappear into the wilderness......but you guys ain't that lucky!:D

There are some wondrous sights in this great land of ours. I've never seen a view of the Rockies that was bad....and to us Motorheads the Great Salt Lake is Meca.....:icon_cheers:..the rest of Utah is nothing less than beautiful!

I was at cr england for training...

Thanks Tominator. I agree, it's a beautiful state. There is still so much I haven't seen. I'll be getting around more in the coming years.

Just to give an idea of just how smoky it is around here, I took a pic this morning. The top was taken back in December. The bottom was today, taken from the same area. You can barely see the Rockies from the Oquirrh Mountains.

This one is looking up into the Oquirrh's. There is a fire on the other side of this mountain that was caused by lightning. Lucky for us, the forecast has thunderstorms in it for the next two days.

is that snow on the ground in the first pic? or salt? lol

last year, NC had a few first in the swamps near the coast. i remember one day the winds shifted and it blew the smoke inland instead out to the ocean. raleigh is very hilly and in all the low areas the smoke had settled, looked like something was on fire here. never seen anything like it.

Now there's an idea. Put the salt down first. Lol. There is some marsh/swamp land very near me that gets that foggy haze over it. I don't really understand what causes it, because it does it in all seasons - but on random days. It does it more around October, but I just drove through it less than a month ago.

I went to the races last night at Rocky Mountain Raceways, which is about 5 minutes from my home. This is a race that was just getting under way, and there was a wreck before they even got past the starting line. The white one was actually airborne for a moment. These are sprint cars, they are pretty quick.

The track is 3/8 or 5/8 of a mile, I can't remember which.

This is my Grandpa's store. It was a Rexall pharmacy (he was the Pharmacist) with a soda fountain, etc. It was my first job at 14 years of age. It is actually the backdrop for a TV show right now called Granite Flats. I don't know much else other than all of the people were wearing 50's clothes, and the streets have 50's cars all over the place.

I'm sure he is. Unfortunately it's from the other side. He took a lot of pride in his business. We get people that tell us all the time about how he helped them out of a bind with prescriptions, or just feeding them a meal when they were down on their luck. He was one heck of a guy to look up to.

I snapped a couple of the Stang in front of my Grandpa's store finally. Lighting conditions were horrible. I just washed it, and the clouds rolled in.

Sharp lookin vehicle.......

That's how we get it to rain down here...wash our vehicles....

only drawback is---if too many people wash their vehicles on the same day----we get a hurricane about a week later
