So I figured out why the 97 sploder had a stiff throttle. The throttle body was corroded and gunked up around the blade. I was able to clean it and use some steel wool and MAF cleaner to make it operate smoothly. But I was going to just throw a spare good throttle body from a 98 mountaineer I had lying around. So it turns out the blade for the TPS is a different size than the 97. I didnt have the tps from that one lying around anymore but I seem to remember it was a different style where it plugged into the harness directly unlike the 97 where the TPS has a pig tail coming off of it.
So the delma is I can not find reman 96-97 throttle bodys online 98-01 is readily available. So with that said has anyone made a adapter pigtail to go from a 96-97 tps to 98-01 to use the "newer" longer blade style tps?
I would like to order one and hold onto it just because old Ford aluminum loves to break....
I would like a bolt on solution rather then grinding and trimming.
