I compared them to 5100. No comparison 7000MT works much better on lifted rigs. My buddy was very disappointed that he ponied up the extra dough for the 5100 after he rode in Double R, Merc, 2.0, My TJ, and Iceberg. :D

Glad I'm seeing this. My next buy is rear shocks..

I got an awesome deal on some 5150's for the front. I LOVE THEM.
Was trying to see if something cheaper for the rear would work. Was planning on 5100's till now.

My brother has the 7000's on the rear of his Yota. They are to stiff for his lightweight truck. But on a heavier rig they might work better.

I Need something that is stiffer comp and rebound as the rig sways heavily while crawling and the suspension collapses on its self on the bigger hits. bad part is I don't even know what shocks are on there right now. I sourced them off an axle I picked up for my mazda and they worked great when the setup was in there. but the added weight of the explorer is just a bit too much.

So I know it's been 2 years since you painted double r. But I'm about to start my roll on paint job and I was curious on how you did it. Did you scuff up the factory paint? Any sanding between coats? Any buffing after final coat? How does touch up coverage blend? And lastly, how many cans got you to 6 coats? Sorry for so many questions. Been following your work since the beginning. Amazing stuff

Picked up Project Mayhem yesterday. Turbo 2.3 60mm turbo, 60lbs injectors, intercooled. Put down 367hp at the wheels on the dyno. Getting 4x4 conversion and solid axle swap.... :D

I wouldn't do it again. Doesn't hold up. You can google how to do it like I did.
