Just picked up a set of bran new Mile Marker hubs at a garage sale of all places. But they do not have new nuts to do a full conversion. Will these work with warns own axle nut setup? Hubs look identical to warns. Are they interchangeable?

You can use the warn locknuts. You can also go to a junk yard and get them off an axle that has/had manual hubs. Heck, someone here probably has some laying on their work bench somewhere that they'll never use because they have a D35 now.

Had a little fun today. The front axle in my 84' was in bad shape so much that 4x4 did not work. So we replaced it with the the d28 out of my 89'. All went well. But we found a few things were worse than we expected. And found a new problem.

The 84' has a skyjacker lift. And as soon as we dropped the axle. We found a dime size hole in the top of the dif. housing. Were guessing that it was hitting the drop bracket on that side. But can not find any evidence that i has been hitting there. Is this a common problem with the skyjacker lift kits?

Second pulling that ttb was one heck of an eye opener. Putting it back in was a big pain in the rear. Why ford ever manufactured this crap design I'll never know. As soon as I can find a set of axles for the 89 she's going full size straight axles!

Now the surprise of the day. While crawling underneath I spotted the source of the excessive squeaking coming from the driver side rear of the 84'. The rear shackle is completely missing! Leaf spring is bolted straight through to the frame! Thank god I didn't buy this for a daily driver. Will have to pull a shackle off the 89' to get her ready for her test run on some fire roads up north.
