My friend has a mid 90's mazda truck that had the same size of engine as my 92. Well he put a throttle body spacer on it and then wrecked it and he said he'll give it to me. Will it work and if it does what will it do to my gas mileage? Next thing is exhaust, I was offroading with my truck last weekend and a section of my tail pipe came off right behind my muffler and the whole time i had it in neutral the RPMs fluctuated between 500 and 1000 really quickly till i put it back on. I want to put dual exhaust on it too and was wondering if it will do the same with that.
If anybody can help me with these questions that would be great, thanks.

Spacers are junk on injected engines.. If a small spacer would help either horsepower or milage don't you think Ford would have made the intake that much higher?
Spacers do help SOME engines in racing vehicles get the exact amount of fuel at the exact rpm for the job they are doing.. There is a POSSIBILITY a spacer would cause a small amount more fuel to inter the cylinder at a CERTAIN rpm.. But in an engine that varies it's rpm the spacer MAY inhibit filling at the rpm most used by the driver.

I know that my friend's truck did have a noticeable increase in power when he put that thing on. And I really don't think that Ford would care enough to put the spacer in, my opinion though
