I have a 97 ranger 2wd 2.3liter first question what rear end do i have? My second question is what gear ratio would give me the best performance for about 26-27 inch tires. And third any opinions on spools?:icon_confused:

Since its a 2WD you probably do mostly street driving. And with a 2.3 I doubt your runnin down th 1/4 mile. So a spool is of no use to you. If you want extra traction get some form of selecteble locker or a posi or limited slip. They will give you better handleing on the street.

What is your reasoning for a spool? From what I can read you have no need what so ever for a spool.
