well,it's finally happened.the 2.9l ranger engine i've had running my air compressor for the last 5 years(and the one that was thoroughly beaten on before driving my butt up to these islands)has finally done it.
it's started puking coolant out the overflow,even when cold...and i've got enough experience with these motors to know what that means.

well,i'm not wasting time or money on a worn out 2.9,so i looked around the yard to see what was lying around to replace it with.
here's one option.from a 97 3 series,but while it's got some cool factor,it's a little big.runs nice,though.
option two.
it's a toyota(ewwwwww)2.0 turbo diesel.runs like new.practically is new,with barely 100k km on it.while it lacks the cool logo on top,i think this is the better choise to supply my compressed air needs for the forseeable future.
should be fairly economical to run,too.
