i was on my drive home from work today and i was at a stop sign, i gave the truck a bit of gas and proceeded to turn left onto the highway, i got up to about 70km/h and let of slightly and my truck just died....? Found this very odd so i put it in neutral and it still would not start, stopped on the shoulder put it in park, still nothing. Turned the key off completely and tried starting it up and it started great, ran like a charm. put it in drive and as soon as i gave it a bit of gas it started to hickup? the rpm just randomly drops about 500 and then picks back up. it only does this when i giver shit when i ease into it it does not seem to do it. any guesses what the problem could be, also when ever it hickups the check engine light comes on then goes right back off.... possibly the fuel pump cutting out? plugged fuel filter? i dont know any help is much appreciated

could be fuel filter, could also be bad battery cables not passing the juice thru...start with something cheap and work your way up the line, always works for me...

just took my truck for a drive around the block to see if i could pin point any thing, seems every time i hit a bump in the road this 'hickup' seems to occur, not sure if that helps with pin pointing the problem????

now it starts to sound like wiring. Check at the starter relay and then move on from there.

the relay is located on the right fender, follow your positive battery cable to it.

is your battery properly held down? mine did the same thing because my positive battery post was ramming into the fender and shorting out.

mine is not held down but its a decent size battery and does not have much room to jump around. it is a top post and does not hit the hood. located the relay, all wires seem to be clean and tightly attached

try getting the hold down on it.

A bungie cord will work in a pinch, but its not great as a permanent fix.
