I am looking to update my ride to a newer Ranger. I am trying to find out if it is worth paying a little more for the FX4 model?
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the FX4 and other 4.0L are.

Thanks.

Are you looking at brand new FX4s or used ones? We need to know the year to be sure.

As of right now, it affords you skidplates, more agressive tires, decals etc., and different shocks.

It used to offer an 8.8" 31 spline axle with a Torsen gear driven L/S, manual transfer case, Bilstein HD shocks, skidplates, and decals etc. back in 2003.

FX4 is a Ranger model that features an off road package to include suspension, locking differential, tires, and some unique body cues on a few year models. Any other 4X4 is is the same minus these FX4 features.
