well my girlfriend and i were discussing, with great remorse, the inevitable end of our beloved ranger. I told her the story of how the mustang, in the late 80's/early 90's, was to be replaced by the probe (what the F*CK was ford thinking??) but a buttload of mustang fans and ford enthusiasts signed a petition/sent letters demanding ford to keep the mustang around. stupidly, i didn't think of this idea, but the wifey says "hey, why don't we do that for the rangers?" there has to be something us ranger fanatics can do to save our truck. maybe if we do the same as the mustang-lovers did, our truck can continue to live? just an idea i thought needed to be shared. obviously the ranger hasn't exactly been refreshed in some years, but there are loads of great qualities to these trucks to keep us hooked. I am going to drive rangers probably for the rest of my life; my gf absolutely loves my tight, cramped and extremely slow 1995 ranger but hell, its awesome on gas, i can tow stuff, and come on guys! it looks great! and for the people that need to store stuff there is the supercab, and for more power there is the v6 options. i just wish we could do something to get ford to keep the ranger around a little longer. after all, 2008 was supposedly the last year for them, but because of gas prices they kept them around. Now with the economy, who doesn't want a truck that is decently priced that can get the job done? it seems like this is one of those WHAT THE F*CK is ford thinking? situations...any suggestions?

i heard that 2011 is the last year. If so, then we've got awhile.
