i want to lower my 91 and eventually my 83 2 inches in the rear but still keep the stock leaf springs. has anyone done the shackle flip in the back? that is my lowering method of choice at this stage unless somebody tells me otherwise... it doesnt look like a hard task i just want to make sure that my truck wont be riding on the bump stops after i do it.

Shackles are awesome. The flip on a ford rear axel drops you 4-5" and the shackles will recover 2-3" depending on mfgr. The ones from DJM replace the OEM ones that are just stamped steel. Much better quality. Keep an eye on your shocks though. Anytime you lower a vehicle you reduce the travel on a shock and it shortens their life. My favorites are Procomp's Toxic Shocks and they are cheap too. But run the OEM's into the ground then get some Toxic Shocks. Good luck to ya'
