Whats up everyone, quick question.

Im ripping out my engine because it blew up and im putting a new one in. Question is, can i just take the engine out, or do i have to drop the transmission also? If i dont have to id rather not go through those steps, i just got it back in there from being rebuilt. If anyone has pulled their engine without dropping the transmission, please let me know so i know if it is possible. And also what to look out for.
Thanks,
Shawn

Yes, just support the transmission with a jack or block and the engine will slide forward off of it. Saves a lot of time. Don't forget to take the starter off.

Keep us posted...it's easy to do that with an auto trans but personally I think it'd be a PITA to try to slide the new motor back onto the input shaft of a manual trans while it's still mounted..is yours 2 or 4wd? I'd think at a minimum you'll need to pull the rear drive line to be able to spin the trans to get the splines to line up..for me, now that I've put new clutches in my Ranger, B2, and friends Explorer, as well as swapping out my B2 trans about 4 times, pulling the trans is pretty easy..Best of Luck!!
