I am passing the 200000M mark. Got a lifter that clatters and some marvels and seafoam just barely quiet. I can tollerate the ticking by turning down my hearing aids. Those came with my 77th birthday. Solution time approaching. I am 77 and not as agile as I used to be and on a disability pension cash is tighter and tighter. but I love this little truck....to a degree and I am certain that a new SXT Ranger is not even a dream. Besides I think I equal that in every respect ecept creature comfort and ENGINE. I have read over a ton of pages about this topic but it all seems to be vintage info from the early 2000s. I figure that was true in 2000 is still so but have we groan smarter in the colective in the recent decade? Is the 4.0 SOHC still the best solution?
I don't have a shop b ut I can rebnuild an engine and I have a space where I could swap out the engine. Mind you, I am not looking for a mega HP or T anything. I need simple and cheap with reliability. My OHV is not a real disapointment except in its design limits and the chance I could do better for the same or close money.
Is the 4.0 OHC a true drop in plug and play?
thanks....john
