Came across a really informative YouTube video by Randum Adventures on Ranger/BII swaps.
He pointed out his Ron Francis-sourced wiring harness, which I was curious about. Had to have my current motor re-wired a year or so back, couldn't find a decent used harness anywhere and I dont know a damned thing about auto electric...
Spoke to a tech at Ron Francis, told him Im looking to swap either an OBD1 '94-'95 Mustang 302 or an OBD2 '96-'97 Explorer 302 into my OBD1 '94 Ranger. Deciding on fitment versus wiring ease/challenges, but was leaning towards the Mustang, though mentioned it'll be more expensive to find a clean donor Mustang than a clean Explorer.
Then he blew my mind; he says with this Telorvork kit, they can pre-program for the motor its going into, they can program out the auto trans codes, and I dont have to be limited to eihter donor rig based on EEC generation.
Anyone else have experience with this? It seems almost too good to be true, but even at $1000+ for the kit, if I can buy a clean, low mileage Explorer for a couple grand, not have to worry about wiring, this would literally make this plug and play. But is it true?
