What do you use to clean a sweaty and stiff but not worn out seat belt ? .

Warm water or sopy mix ? brand please .

Do I need to remove it or just unroll it and hold extended with clothes pins as I clean it ? .

TIA,

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I would go with warm soapy water and a scrub brush. Maybe a bit of Lysol. After it dries, if it stinks, soak with Febreze and let it dry again.

@Dirtman has had some cleaning challenges. Maybe he has some good advice.

Dawn dish soap, hot water, and a scrub brush. Don't use any harsh chemicals, they could damage the fabric.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
My project Ranger came with extremely filthy seat belts- as well as the rest of the interior. I pulled the belts out of the retractors as far as possible and clipped them in place. The I soaked them in hot water and Oxyclean and scrubbed them with a brush. The water instantly turned black. I changed the water with more OXY 5 or 6 times until they looked clean, then rinsed them in clean, hot water multiple times. I left them hanging in my basement for weeks to dry-and because I wasn't ready to install them yet. They came out looking good and not feeling grimy. I took the plastic guides off the buckles and did the same to them. I also disassembled the retractors and cleaned them, be extremely careful if you decide to do that.

If you decide to take them out to clean id recommend not touching the female ends. Thems got boom boom parts inside. Pretty much impossible to set them off but if you dont need to touch them, don't.

Also you might turn on your SRS light if you break the boom boom parts..
