i noe people installed shackles on the rear of the leaf spring but anyone installed it on the front of the leaf spring and the rear?

That wouldn't work. It would move the leafsprings forward or backward, depending which way they rotated, and would cause damage to your fenders and possibly the driveline as well. This would probably also cause some weird behavior when braking, like the rear end bucking.

Yeah the spring needs to be solidly supported at one end. Won't work.

You'd have to install some sort of locating brackets to keep the diff from flopping front to rear, like a 4 or 3 link.
