I want a 4-6in suspension lift for my 99 ranger 4wd. There really don't seem to be very many options so if anyone has any better options speak up but I'm currently trying to decide between Skyjacker and Superlift and looking for opinions.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Read the tech articles about both and search for forum threads. It's going to be your decision based on your budget and skill level.

I just installed the Skyjacker 6" with their leaf springs and shocks. I feel like it is a very good quality kit. But I don't have experience with Superlift's kit for comparison.

I will say, if you add the Superlift superrunner steering kit with either one, make sure you install the idler arm bracket at the same time you install the axle beam pivot brackets. It will be much easier that way.

For a '99 your choice has already been decided for you.
(Skyjacker only goes up to '97)

Well shit, I missed that. I wish there were more options for 99

Superlift actually isn't that bad of a kit for your year (I wouldn't recommend anyone get Superlift for a '97 or older truck due to their weak brackets and stiff springs). For '98+ Superlift gives you new steering knuckles which keeps the steering linkage (rack & tie rods) in it's stock location when you lift it. Only thing is the kit doesn't really improve travel or performance, it almost literally fits the definition of "lift kit".

A body lift kit might be another (far cheaper) option to look into.
