Hey all,
Just put in a new clutch assembly (slave with throwout, pressure plate, friction disc, flywheel). Got it bled, nice firm pedal, good to go.
However, there is now a slight and intermittent "grinding noise" that sounds like it's coming from the clutch area. The best way to describe the noise is when you have a front tire/wheel off and you spin the hub and the slight touching of the brake pad with the rotor creates that slight grinding noise. The noise only occurs while driving/acceleratinG, but it's not constant, just every once in a while. If I shift to neutral and just coast it goes away.
I'm sure I installed everything correctly (not my first clutch install)...just wondering what you all thought.
Is this just the new friction disc making slight contact with the flywheel? Does the clutch just need to be broken in?
Thanks
EDIT: After driving it again, I have determined it be more of a rattle, like a bracket rattling. And sure enough, I think I found it...I forgot to tighten down an exhaust hanger. As soon as the exhaust cools I'm going to tighten it down and see if that fixes the problem.
