Actually the 98's don't have a cable...they're all electronic. Same thing happened to mine a few months back..replaced the speed sensor located on the rear transmission but that didn't help. Took it to the dealer who tested the circuit and concluded that my speedometer needle was broken. Bought a used instrument cluster at a junk yard for $45 including shipping....just put it in tonight so we'll see what happens.....only problem is the new unit has 101,000 on it and I had 165,400 though it was probably closer to 170,000 as it hadn't really been working for a couple of months. Any ideas on how to chage the odometer to reflect the actual mileage more acurately?
