I am about to pull my hair out I have a 94 3.0. Problem is when I get in it to take off 1st don't do it 2nd starts to spit and sputter like a miss at 2k goes away around 2400 then same with 3rd and 4th 5th is fine. Then after it warms up tada nothing wtf!
Truck has new plugs wires cap rotor and is timed at 6* like other members said is the right timing.

Ooookay!

Educate me Please
When the engine is cold there is a a choke system on all engines. This system adds more fuel until the engine reaches operating temperature. In the carbed engines there is a butterfly that keeps the incoming air directed to a certain location that will PULL more fuel into the mixture than is there after the engine warms up.
In a computered engine the computer sees the coolant temperature and adds the amount of fuel needed to run at that temperature. If the temperature sender isn't working correctly the engine might think it is already warm and put LESS fuel than it needs to run well.. Then after the engine is at the correct temperature that same mixture runs well..

The timing should be at 10*, it runs better at this. Not sure the reason you have it timed at 6.
What the Book says and other members told me also

What is the correct setting I have been told 2 different ways I'm not a moron I'm sick of bouncing back and forth for he said she said I just want it to run right and not wanting to just throw parts at it

Also I need to pull the little plug right? under the radiator cap before timing it also right? this is my first 3.0 have had all others before and never had this problem

The sensor in on the bottom part of the lower intake manifold right next to the heater core hose. Another one I would possibly clean or replace is the air inlet sensor, it's located on the bottom part of the air filter box.
Ok it's back is one of these the one's you are talking about

I cleaned the Mass air and replaced the one in the air box

I looked all over in my Haynes Manual and can't find any info on this sensor. It's really getting annoying that it sputters in every gear at 2k until 2400. Since I usually run 2k going to work every day So any more Info will be awesome Thanks guys
