Sometimes when I decelerate, the oil pressure gauge drops down to 0. Most of the time, it will jump back up to pressure, but sometimes, it just stalls and the truck turns off. This is a big problem for going to and from work because when I'm sitting in traffic, it does it all the time. It generally happens when I either hit the brake or shift into neutral (or press the clutch). Giving it a little gas (even in neutral) generally avoids the issue, but not always. Any idea what's wrong?

If it were me, I'd start out simple by looking for a vacuum leak, and check the timing, etc. Have you done any troubleshooting yet?

No, I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot it. Come to think of it, I do have a broken vacuum line, but it's been broken for a while. I'm not really sure what it goes to, though. I'll dig up a picture of the line (unless somebody has a vacuum diagram for the 89 2.9?)

Yeah, according to this thread, the hose was for some missing HVAC stuff. Do you think that's what's causing the stall? I can try to properly cap it later.
