Starter Cable Routing on 93/94 3.0

I'm in the process of piecing my truck back together and have gotten stuck on the starter cable routing. I looked at a JY but they only had a 98+ and the cables on that appeared to go straight down by the battery tray and follow the block to the starter. That routing doesn't seem to make sense on my 93 so I have it running along the fender then crossing the frame and under the steering column. The issue with this is that there is a ground + screw and I can't find a hole to put the screw in to on the frame- there is one but it doesn't seem to be threaded.

Can anyone tell me how the starter cable routes on a 93/94? Don't need pics but if you are able that might help as well.

my main negative wire goes a little ways up the fender towards the cab, down the fender liner, under the steering shaft, and then to the starter mounting bolt, the positive goes the same way and goes to the lug on the solenoid on the starter.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I was clear on the bolt I was talking about... maybe. However, you made me question what I have hooked up now.

First, this is the bolt I'm talking about. It has a small ground wire coming off of the main ground cable. It looks like it should go into the frame and there are two holes in the frame that it would logically fit, but one hole is too small and the other is the right size but not threaded. However, I POR-15'd the frame and that might be why one hole is too small but I'm not certain.



Second, you said your ground attaches at the starter bolt. My starter has three terminals- a spade terminal and two regular stud/nut terminals. One of the stud/nut has a braided grounding strap that looks like it goes and attaches to the starter housing, so I had put the ground on that terminal and positive on the other. That doesn't sound like it's right. So does that mean the terminal with the braided wire doesn't get anything hooked up and positive goes on the other, or vice-versa?

I tried to get a photo of it but it was a little tight in there (TWSS)
