I found a 13-54 manual shift tcase from a 1990 ranger stx. Will it bolt up to a 94 ranger 4.0 without a problem?

it should. the 1350 and 1354 are virtually the same and are all interchangeable. you should have a 1354 in your truck so your swap will be very easy. if you have a electric t-case in your truck now you will either have to cut a hole in your floor or get a floor plate with the right hole for your application(auto or man trans)

more than likely the "1354" you found in that '90 STX was really a fixed output on a BW1350....

but in any case, the swap is 100% easy as dropping one t-case and installing another...

I think the front drive shaft yokes are different sizes. Let me go check.

i do belive the BW1350 fixed front output and the BW1354 uses the same u-joint/driveshaft for the front....

They do not. I just looked at my fixed front output 1350 and at my electric 1354. The one on the 1350 is considerably smaller. I dont know yoke/ujoint sizes well at all but its smaller than the 1354 yoke.

I am loading pictures now.

I will see if the yokes are interchangable after that.

It took a while to get the pics loaded. I am hosting them on facebook instead of cardomain.

The two cases next to each other. You can see that the length of the drive shaft will need to change.

And the yokes next to each other.

sweet, that helps. Now if i get the tcase should i grab the front driveshaft from the donor truck or will it not fit? or can the yokes be swapped?

There is a catch though. The two drive shafts are different lengths. I do not know if the Ujoint going into a D28 is the same as that going into a D35.

You will want to grab that drive shaft too but you can shorten the drive shaft that you currently have to work aswell by swapping yokes.

I would recommend shortening the drive shaft over using the smaller Ujoint. But that is just an Opinion.
