sudden power loss....

my 86 2wd has been runnin good since i got it a couple months ago, but all of a sudden yesterday it just hasnt been as quick as it normally is. and it has been runnin higher in the RPMs. anyone have any ideas on what could cause this??

Could be LOTS of things...best if you can get codes 1st then move on...save big $$$ when getting parts

With an increase in RPMs and decrease in acceleration, the first thing that comes to mind is brakes. You might inspect and make sure you don't have a stuck caliper or something (jack up the truck a wheel at a time and turn them by hand, they should turn freely).

+1 to pulling codes, but is there anything different about the way the engine runs? eg, idle the same, sound different, etc?

it basicly only does it when i leave from school. its fine in the mornin and later at night. but when i leave around 2 it bogs down.
