My credo
if it aint broke dont fix it if it is broke upgrade
I diffenently dont wana trim the frame have never been a fan of it and i dont like or trust a frame that has been cut even if it doesn't affect it at all finding a np205 is gonna be the hard part im already building a transmission mount so its no problem to build a cross member for it

Another option to trimming the frame (I agree with you on that) is to get a "clocking ring" and angle your transfer case down to clear the frame.
Northwest Fab: http://www.northwestfab.com/Clocking-Rings_c_68.html
(Lots of choices, just Google "clocking ring." )
Even better would be to get a transfer case that fits between the rails in the 1st place. A NP205 fits but is heavy as hell and has a 1.96:1 crawl ratio but you'll never break it. Tough as nails.
I'm pretty sure you could use a later model BW 4406. They're pretty compact and have a 2.64 low range.

They are still pretty fair sized, I know Twister couldn't get one to fit without trimming in his BII. But that is a BII, I have heard mixed reports of how they fit in Rangers.

I found one once, probably should have nabbed it (I really thought it over) but I ended up finding a NP208 in a Bronco instead.

Granted, I haven't tried it but the 4406 didn't seem too much bigger.
'97 BW4406 next to '93 BW1354.
