That what I meant... Street racing...err, speeding is frowned upon.

If you must do that, at least choose some place with decent weather, wide open spaces, and a speed limit of at least 75 MPH.

FYI, that's not speeding by much in parts of New Mexico.

Frankly, that's nothing spectacular. I pinned the speedometer on the Bronco II on the Montanabahn. Not that that was terribly sensible, but the 2.9L could handle it just fine, even at 6000 feet.

track or not,the only way you'll get that speedo up higher with a 2.9l is on a long downgrade.

You all must drive some dogged out 2.9's or something. I always hear everyone griping about power, I have no problem pulling out and around traffic on the interstate. I have been to 75 many times, and been to 85 once a few years back on a old country road. The truck runs better now, so I could probably get up to 100 or higher.

Nonsense. Not that it's a good idea to drive TTB suspension that fast, but if YOUR engine won't do it, it's broken.

I did it with 3.73 gears in several level medium (~6000 feet) altitudes. No problem AT ALL on I-5 (most of which is dang close to sea level).

It's an offroad suspension, not a high speed suspension. It's squishy. It doesn't handle very tightly. It changes camber (and caster and toe) on big bumps more than I'd like. The rear end moves around with changes in power. There is no correct steering geometry, and stock isn't even all that good. You WILL get bump steer.
