Hey All, Working on a 302 for my war weary 1995 2wd Splash. The 2.3 finally passed on after
280,000. I have been putting together a 302 from a 1968 mustang, Have the dual sump oil
pan installed as well as the timing cover from a 1986 302. No dipstick or fuel pump openings.
Any ideas how to create a way to moniter the oil level since the 1968 block does not have the
cast in dipstick hole and opening up the dipstick hole in the 1986 timing cover will not be an
option since the dipstick would have to be so short that it probably would be pretty much useless.
Thanks for any ideas. Thought about putting a sight glass in the side of the pan like my compressor
at home has............

You can get parts like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/393095266494

Google: Oil pan dipstick boss images

These can be bolted to the side of the oil pan so you can add a custom dipstick tube and dipstick that works with any engine bay lay out

You can also add an Oil Level Sensor to the oil pan........as back up
I wouldn't just use an oil level sensor, lol

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Some Fox body pans have the dipstick in the side for blocks without a dipstick tube hole. Any 302 85 or earlier would have a mechnical fuel pump. Summit Racing has several to pick from. I installed one of the California Pony Cars covers on a 68 this summer and was happy with the quality.
