Early Sunday morning we had a tornado come through our little town.
Had had storms ALL day long saturday. We finaly went to bed right ar 10:30 pm. I looked at the radar just seconds before we went to sleep. THERE WAS NOTHING on the radar but rain, and it wasnt near us. I woke up to alot of thunder, LOUD thunder, but meh, i looked at radar, daytime heat is gone, its just a storm no "naders" at midnight
Well,,,,, at 12:10 am my wife wakes me up and says we have no power and she can hear people yelling. So i get outta bed open the fron door, and i hear police sirens (NOT tornado sirens). My neighbors are piling into a car (someone else car they dont have a car. Yes i live in a poor part of town), yelling there is a tornado in town, then hauling ass north. I was just kinda like uummm ok, and you driving off, why????
No power, no cell calls, but texting was goin through. Dead calm, cop sirens. Very erie!!
Well about 3am we finially get word from someone not in our neighborhood ( not a crack head) that Woodward had been hit. Complete other end of town, i live on 2nd st, tornado started in town at 48th and made it 22nd at about a 45* angle through town.
Hit about the last trailer park in town, its got 2-3 trailers left now. I lived about one block from part of town that got destroid. I was born and rased on 34th street, the part of town that is now gone, is my old stomping grounds. Its hard too look at the place.
5 people dead, 3 were young kids. "Apperentley" the sirens were knocked out by lightning during a prevous storm on saturday afternoon..... Those sirens DID NOT sound, there is one about 4 blocks from my house and my two Huskys houl like coyotes when those sirens go off. They test the every saturday at noon.
Anyhoo, on with the pictures.
