You could make a set of 'L' shaped shackles and get an extra few inches of travel. Imagine if the shackles on racerangers truck pointed down as well as out; an L shape.
Shocks depends on travel and money. I'll document my build when I get to it, hopefully in the next few weeks.
I'm just about to try the chev 64" springs. I'm limited to 12" of travel in the rules so I don't know if I need to worry about re-arching or even the shackles.
I asked in another thread about this;
-quote '[I'm starting to piece together the parts for my 64" spring swap and shackle flip for my short course off road race truck. I'm wondering about the bushing; from spring to rear shackle. It looks like there will be limited movement because the outside is an interference fit into the spring and the inner part of the bushing is clamped to the shackle. How do you get more droop or is the rubber part that flexible? I don't have any experience with this, I ASSumed that the shackle portion would pivot quite freely. Can anyone explain this to me. Or is this one of those racing secrets?]'-unquote
also, raceranger97, would you be willing to tell me what springs you used to make your spring pack and the weight of the rear of your truck? my trucks rear is 1320 lbs and I'd like a starting point for the spring pack.
Thanks,
Richard
