Either way, I'll still try come but keep that in mind. I generally don't do anything crazy off-roading wise in the ranger anyway.

And yes, sometime I need to get a second, more fuel efficient vehicle to be a daily. Oh well, only money.

I road my truck down the bunny trail with the group in Indiana. I did drive it home with no rear shocks tho. That was interesting. Not something I'd care to repeat.

Ouch. Yea that sounds like no fun.

I need new rear shocks anyway, the PO put on generic OEspectrum ones from Napa at some point and they are starting to die. Any suggestions for new ones? I dont have all the money in the world but I want a set better than the parts store ones.

I got a pair of Rough Country from their scratch and dent sales on Ebay several years ago that are still working.
Every pic I’ve seen of the ranger shocks from RC, they have no protective boot over the rod. Is that true for yours? I really don’t want dirt getting in the seal and gouging the rod.

Yes. They sell the boots separately. Kinda dumb. I never put any on mine.

That’s a little dumb…. Seems like a bit of a cash grab to me, but maybe I’m just paranoid.

I added you to the list...

As for food... it's feed yourself except for Friday night campfire pizza as of right now.

As far as shocks... I run KYB MonoMax and pretty happy. Skyjacker has a new one out too... BlackMax. I think I may put those on the G-Unit.

And you can't beat SkyJackers warranty. At least last time I dealt with them about 5 years ago. 1 picture. 1 email. Then, a response saying new shock was on the way. No haggling or anything. Was about a year old on a friend's Ranger.

There are plenty to explore without worrying about breaking stuff. Some of the FS roads are smooth gravel. Still have things to see on those. Most the big attraction spots they keep nicely maintained. I'm heading out there Friday night to spend the weekend exploring and dispersed camping with a few friends. I'm gonna be a site seeing trip so I will record some routes and scout to assure they are easy enough for everyone to enjoy. Just remember the higher the number the less maintained the road is. 100s easy, 200s little harder and so forth. But I will say. If you do break, there ain't a better group to be with. I broke a break line last year. @bobbywalter and @Mattman347 repaired my line and @Uncle Gump,@ericbphoto, and @sgtsandman donated brake cleaner and fluid to get me back going. Man it was like a pit crew fixing me up so I could keep going. Awesome group of people to hang out with. Look forward to seeing you there.

I need to ask off and make reservations. For those that have not been there last year was a blast. I arrived Wednesday night and did not see even half of what I wanted to see. Brought my kayak and never got the chance to use it.

The evening campfire bs'ing was worth the trip in itself. The campground lady (otherwise known as the cheeto lady) has set her eyes on @ericbphoto and is off limits. :p
