I did a search but couldn't find any V-6 Aspires done in the usual hot rod way....one had a 6 with FWD and I think Leno did one with a 24V 3.0 but it's in the back. I think it'd make for a decent looking small car that'd be quick and relatively cheap and would also get good mpgs. If you found one that drives you could "back halve" it while still driving it and since it is so lightweight, heavy duty parts ($) are not really needed. Know of anyone who has done it?

Check out this site.

A v6 would probably be pretty hard to shoehorn in. There are several Mazda engines that swap in with minimal work and the turbo versions have more than DOUBLE the hp and torque of the original engine. If our Aspire ever blows up, I know what I'll be doing with it.:icon_welder:

The car you referred to that Leno has, thats a "Shogun", there were a few of them built, Ford Festiva (or Fiesta?) with the Yamaha V-6 in a mid-engine configuration.

Nothing involving an Aspire is a good idea.

I could have said Geo with a 4.3 lol I don't know why but I like small cars...even though I'm 6' 4". Thanks Zman....I've seen it on TV just forgot what it was for sure. I saw an old Comet down the road....also think a 4.0 in one of those would be cool :)

My thoughts exactly. The purple Aspire's look like Easter eggs.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Well which Geo? A Metro would be bad, you are right. A Storm might be kinda awesome.
As long as its the hatchback and not the wagon.

In the far back corners of my mind I remember seeing a Storm in a magazine years ago that had a small block. It had a full tube frame/cage with huge rear tires. I was thinking Metro anyways lol just because it'd be so light.

You can do that with about anything though, mainly depends on how good your funding is.

A couple years ago I saw a VW bug with a BBF, tube framed of course with huge slicks.

There is a festiva with a kzle v6 out of a probe that has been done, he's putting a turbo on it now. The festiva and aspire share a ton of parts, you'd have to use a pre97 I believe unless you want to deal with the obd2.

Speaking of 4.3's, we carbureted my buddies 4.3 Vortec on his transmission dyno. This thing purrrrrrrs like a kitten. The motor is our of a Blazer, and so is the radiator support. I bring this up just to show the carb'd option on the Vortec. I can give more details if anyone is interested.

I read that 84 to 87 Astro's came with the old non comp HEI and a carb. I do like the 4.3...I had one in a 86 Monte Carlo...did a few little things to it and was getting 30 mpg without overdrive. I had a 60 mile round trip drive to work back then and it only took $2 in gas.....it was still .99 cents back then :(
