This is the main reason that I am actually looking forward to the new Maverick. There is still a market for a sub $30,000 truck. It does not have to be able to do heavy off-roading, or tow 15,000 pounds, or have 700hp. I don't need to haul a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed, I just need an open space to put stuff that I would not be able to fit in an SUV, or be able to carry without damage the interior of the SUV.
For instance- I have a hobby of repairing snowblowers. I have been finding quite a few at the curb lately, for free. I would not be able to fit them in the back of an SUV, but they can go right in the bed of my Ranger and get tied down and brought home.
It's like the Jeep's you see around town with a lift and 37" mud tires. You know 95% of the time they are on blacktop anyway.
Don't get me wrong, the new Ranger doesn't look bad, it's just not for me.
Rant over, my apologies.
