what intake manifolds interchange?

Hi all,

My sister just bought a 1996 Ranger 4.0L with a bad intake manifold. I know there were several changes made to the 4.0L in '95, but I'm wondering if the manifold from a 1994 4.0L will fit. Thanks

i believe that vehicle had the aluminum intake which is the same as earlier years. the fuel rail however may be different tho. earlier models had a return line and later models only had one fuel line. the later 4.0 ohv have a plastic intake which is a little different but can be swapped for the aluminum
