So working on my 87 ranger and contemplating a new gauge cluster. I don’t have a dash so there are no limits. I am fabricating a small aluminum console above steering column and it would be nice to have a 2005-2012 ish mustang GT gauge cluster. Especially the one with the forward pronounced Tach and speedo with monitor gauges in between.
I looked at a diagram of the 2012 and only saw the evil Can Bus HS and MS rails.
I think that is out.
I am hoping someone knows the cutoff year when gauges went to can bus from separate VSS lines and a Tach feed.
Don’t care if the rest of the gauges work, but that may be resolved.
Carbureted 302, Microsquirt Ignition, VSS is avail from either trans or rear end or even potentially the MS control.
I may have to send this question to another forum (squirt) to get an answer as the squirt may be the intermediary. VSS ans Tach from can bus out on MS.
If there is a year where gauges went from stupid simple (still non-mechanical) to all data driven- and you know that year, please advise.
I really really like that 2010-2011 cluster on the mustang.
Thanks in advance
