Wheel bearing help

My tools usually get covered in black grease and dirt before I drop them. Doesn't matter what color the manufacturer made them. They're invisible when dropped.

Or you could consider that replacing the bearings on a RWD is an easy job, with the hardest part by far being removing and installing the races in the rotor/hub. Nor is it particularly expensive if you don't buy to-of-the-line stuff. So if you just use the races & seals that come with the rotors, slapping in a new set of bearings is trivial and cheap and can be done regularly.

Keeping everything clean while working is very important. Clean off the spindle well, and polish the surface where the seal runs well. Blast it with brake clean and blow it off. If the seal fails it doesn't matter what you spent on bearings - they'll be toast fast. The grease won't keep them from rusting/pitting if water gets in there.

Use good grease and pack it into the bearings well before installing them, either by hand or with a bearing grease tool (two cones and zerk fitting). I have a tool, but usually use my hands as the tool wastes a lot of grease. Lightly grease the seal surface too.
