my question is..will a c5 auto tranny bolt up to my 2.8L which previously had an A4LD in it without any modification/parts swap? the seals just went out on my A4ld and i found a rebuilt C5 for 200 bucks.

edit: i know this is a stupid question but i noticed the C5 is a 3 speed tranny, is the ratio low enough in 3rd to get up to highway speeds (65-70) ? sorry but i have no idea about 3 speed transmissions

My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
the C5 is a 3spd so there is no OD. your RPMs will be high at 65-70 mph. as far as bolting up I don't think it is quite that simple but yes it would work, you need a torque converter from a C5.
