Power Steering Low Pressure Side hose

I have changed this hose twice now. It seems that the brackets (I say brackets but could be bracket and block that it's between) that it feeds through so it can go back around to the power steering keeps cutting the hose. I thought about some steel reinforcement (not sure about my options there because of limited space between the brackets) but wanted to know what you guys thought. I tried rerouting the hose but because of the steel part of it being so close to the brackets it only crimped the line to run it any other way but through the brackets.

take one of the old hoses, or a spare hose you have laying around and wrap it around your new one, this should help keep the steel from rubbing on your new hose, this is one of those old redneck tricks my dad taught me.

That is actually a great idea!! I will try it However, I don't think there will be enough room for doubled hoses in the slot. It's just a little bigger than the hose itself.

Make the low pressure hose longer and route it any way you want. The bonus is that the longer it is, the more cooling that happens in circulation. Cooler oil helps pump last longer (so I'm told).

Wrap plastic wire loom around the line, or use really thin sheet metal and wrap it around the line and secure it with hose clamps.

this is basically the same idea i posted, but in my experience, the plastic will get brittle after prolonged exposure to heat and cold. And therefore is more susceptible to cracking. no offense to you exbass, i mean no harm.
