1989 front brake calipers - are OEM pistons steel or phenolic?

Replacing the front brake calipers 1989 ranger 2-wheel drive. Does anyone know whether the original OEM calipers pistons are steel or phenolic? Seems all I can find locally are phenolic. Maybe it's an old thread but I'm not finding it. Any help is appreciated.

Are you rebuilding them yourself? O Reilly's might be able to order a Brake Best #7506 metal piston.

I would probably pull one off and check. And hope that it doesn't have 2 different ones.
