1998 ranger help

I have a 98 ranger 3.0 5speed it blew up and I was goin to put a 97 4.0 out of explore in it what do I have to change can I use trans and clutch and flywheel?

although they use the same transmission the holes are different. you need the 4.0 engine, computer, wiring harness, the 4.0 transmission, idk about the motor mounts. youd be better off doing a 5.0 swap, as its just as much work. or buy a truck with a 4.0

Yeah I did the 3.0 to 4.0 swap and I wish I swapped a 5.0, however it was easier to me than the 5.0 because I wanted a manual 4x4 which would have been alot more difficult I believe than the 4.0 manual swap.

I can tell you all I had to do if you're interested
