Hello all, been browsing the forums but my first post here.
Recently acquired a 1987 Ranger XLT, 2.9L, ext cab, auto. Truck sat for a year before I got it, so it took a few love taps on the starter to get her alive. Upon startup, the engine immediately went full throttle, nothing touching the pedal. I suspected faulty accelerator cable, but cable and linkage seemed fine upon inspection. IAC seemed to not be stuck open either.
Now the only thing I can think of would be a vacuum leak, but I feel with how much air she's getting, the leak would be blatantly apparent.
So, cable, linkage, butterfly, and IAC seem fine. Anything else I'm missing?
Apologies for how I'm wording this, new to the whole 'posting on a forum' thing.
Thanks!
