I believe a 99 will need a Ford dealer electronic tool to change the tire size in the 4WABS module.

Since larger tires than yours WERE available stock, that reflash shouldn't be a big deal.
Shouldn't cost more than an hour of labor.

My 2000 came stock with 245/75-16.

If it's RABS, the same reflash is possible at Ford, but I believe that one is done to the PCM.

When I reduced my tire size, I simply printed out a speedo correction chart and kept it on the visor. My change was 5.2% going from 245/75-16 to 235/75-15. My speedo indicated faster than actual.

You probably just made the speedo CORRECT, as 215 tires were NEVER stock equipment on a 4x4 1993 or newer.

So some assole put smaller tires on it before you got it and you JUST reinstalled the correct size...

I really doubt that anyone stupid enough to put 215's on a '99 would have the speedo corrected.

Post a picture as proof. I had a 99 4x4 XL model and the door sticker specified 235/75R15.

Easy there turbo, I didn't call you an idiot and neither did anyone else. I simply asked to see a picture because I have never seen that. I had the base model 99 4x4 xl as well, that's why I was curious.
