Every time the wipers are turned on, or are set to intermittent, the seat belt BEEP goes off. I disconnected the plug under the seat for the belt. The only thing that did was stop the beep every time I plug in the seat belt (and why the hell does it BEEP when I plug in the seatbelt?). But it still goes off. Today it was going off every time the wiper turned on and then it stopped and was beeping once randomly for no reason.
Any ideas?

Ranger has 3 possible chimes
Driver's door open and.............
key off but in ignition("Key left in ignition" warning)
OR
Park or Headlights on, key off("Headlights left on" warning)

Or seat belt not connected with weight on the seat, engine running("Buckle up" warning)

No chime for anything else

So you would have some kind of short that would not be easy to find

2004 Ranger has the SJB(smart junction box), 1st year for it
SJB is the Body Computer, replaced the GEM Module(1995-2003)
Its behind the passenger side kick panel, Cab Fuse Box is part of the SJB

SJB runs all the cab electrics, interior lights, wipers, door switches(so key and lights on chime), seat belt chime, ect............

SJB has 4 larger wire connectors and these have been known to get moisture intrusion, so can short and cause odd issues

This article has good pictures of your SJB: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech/ford-ranger-short-burst-horn-modification/

Great, thanks. This truck was a fleet vehicle somewhere in the Yakima, Washington area and so I think it has seen a lot of snow and mud (and heat in the summers). Its a total mess of dried mud everywhere. And that would make sense that melting snow got everywhere as well.

Yes, in rainy and snowy places people get in and out of a vehicle with wet shoes and clothes
And then turn on the heat, with windows UP, lol
A lot of moisture can stay behind, especially if vehicle doesn't have AC
AC dries the air in the cab, even with heat on, AC is always on

I have 2 Rangers and I my profile has been updated.
The Ranger in question is the 2000, so it has the GEM
