Just bought a 98 4wd ranger, and wanna put some bigger tires on. I was thinking 31-32 in tires but I don’t know if they will rub or take off the fender flares without a lift, I’m planning on doing a 1.5-2in lift in the future but it’s time for tires now lol.
Thank you

That's 32's on my 06 before suspension work. 265/75/16's on 8 inch wide with 4 inch backspace. It worked but I never really flexed it.

All these trucks are different... your results may differ.

My 95 with 31s, 4" backspacing on 15" x 8" rims , no lift, sagging front springs. No rubbing but I haven't taken her off any sweet jumps.

Thank you. What wheels are those, I like them. Do they work with manual hubs if you know?

Thr rims are Cragar soft 8s. I bought them thru Summit Racing. They have a good size center bore with plenty of room for the hubs. Those are manual hubs on my ranger. Auto and manual are the same size. I generally use McGregor tuff nuts for lugs. Spendy but they last forever, are one piece so they can't expand and split. Those ones are 13 years old, run in the winter salt and are rust free.

Yes, I used to have 32x11.5R15 with 15x8 wheels on my 99. It had the flares too. I did do a slight torsion bar twist, but IIRC they fit before that too.

No rubbing that I recall, but, like gump said, I didn't flex a lot. Mine was done more for appearance than offloading.

A friend of mine has 33s but had to make a torsion bar adjustment in the front. He also took a grinder to his front fender flares. And yes, every older truck will be a little bit different.
