Not sure what you mean by using a hose clamp as a retainer, but I'm willing to try anything.
I'm flying blind here because I sold my last manual trans RBV last year, but I was wondering if there was any room on the outer end of the shaft after the clutch pedal arm slides onto it so that you could tighten a clamp there, keeping the clutch pedal arm from sliding off.

The pin is very short what the op could do, get a spring with hooks one the ends hook one to the pedal and one somewhere to the right so keeps pressure against it moving away from the PIN just a thought lol

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm thinking Maybe a through-bolt, real short and Case Hardened. If I find a solution I will post pics.:icon_confused:

I have a pedal assembly, will take pics of it when I get home.
Okay it's a little fuzzy but you can tell it has a nice Groove for a clip if you can't get the clip to stay I would try a washer and a very strong spring clip made out of metal. For some reason I think the clutch master cylinder is crooked and that is why it is popping off they have to be a certain way with the mounting plate. I know one thing, I'll never attempt it again without taking the driver's seat out!

In my Pictures you can see the Plastic clip. It goes through a hole in the rusted pedal assembly and snaps into a hole in the chrome piece. that's it. I guess Ill go to the Junk yard and see if there are alternative pieces and parts I can play with.

Maybe there's something wrong with the banjo the part that goes on the PIN but yours is no different than any others

There is no pin. Just a plastic piece(pic1) and two holes that line up and the plastic piece snaps into the two holes.

under further review, I'm an ass;brownbag; and was confused on what you all were talking about. so I got a camera with a flash, took a few pictures(I will try to upload later), and now I see what you were talking about. I tried a few different tactics and a zip tie seems to be the easiest, cheapest fix, but not permanent.

I realize you may already know this...

That aluminum end with the hole in it, that is called the banjo

the clip, I'm sure you're familiar with is also the bearing for the banjo. It and goes through from the right and clips down into the groove. I think I would call it a snap in bearing instead of a clip

didn't know what any of that stuff was called. Now I do . lesson learned and thanks to ALL of you for your info. I've learned more from this forum than any other place on the internet. Real answers are great. Nobody running to their computer parts list, trhen saying "have you looked on the internets".
