impressive work man! i always liked the zx3 focus.
but i couldnt get one when i was into cars and street racing.
if i ever get a car(without selling the truck) it will be a focus for sure.
BTW, how big of a pain was the metal intake to install? Mine is plastic.....that scares me being at the front of the car. I always think if it were to get hit up there, it would break and suck plastic fragments into the motor.
the entire intake manifold and throttle body on the duratec motors is plastic, i would not worry about the intake tube. lol

the lower stress bar looks sick, and a ton cheaper than buying one......infact what would you charge for a clone?

This is sick I did know this thread existed. Awsome build do you have any pics with the white wheels I love white wheels on black.

I'm over on FF havn't been latly last ime I posted pics of my build I didn't get a single resonse so I stopped they don't care so neither do I. If it not a SVT or it don't look like one know cares and every body I talk to has been pretty inmature. I asked a simple tech question about a light that may belong to a after market alarm and I got a bunch of stupid Honda Vtech light crap.
Ok rant over mybad for the treadjack.

I did meet IowaSVT on there he is a member on here and on blueovaltrucks.com although I can't remeber his user name on here. I'm glad to see there are more Focus fans around and not just myself.

Not really wanting to build another. At least not right now while I only get an hour of daylight to work on it everyday. And its freezing.

I am surprized people on FF treated you like that. I know Focaljet is like that which is why I don't hang out on that site, but I love FF.

OK, now this is weird. My intake is on the opposite side. I thought your header was your intake manifold. The motor in my Escape looks identical....same positioning, same valve cover, etc.

My bad for not noticing that. I'll have to snap a pic to show you how I got confused.

OK, this one isn't mine, but very similar to it. I thought the 2.3 Zetec and 2.3 Duratec were essentially the same motor, but the Zetec was named differently for the ZX3. I thought it was basically the same motor with a few tweaks (cams, etc.) I guess you learn something new everyday, eh?

The Zetec and Duratec are completely different motors. The Zetec has been used for years in Contours, Mystics, and Escorts and is a 2.0. The current Duratec comes in a 2.0 and 2.3 and they started putting them in Foci back in the day, but they were rare. Until 05 when they did away with the Zetec all together.

I was curious, so I looked on FF, and came up with this thread:

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112893

They sure look like the same motor (to me) at first glance. I do know mine has chain driven cams, which was a factor in me buying it. I don't like cars with timing belts.

Sorry for the confusion in your thread man. I should have studied your photo a little harder, LOL.

Done.

The bends on rear bars make them a little close to ground. We'll see if it causes any problems.

Thanks. Get an SVT. Its worth it. The only good thing about the Saleen is it came with a bottle and the wheels are cool. The body kit is horrible IMO.

Nice focus man, you've done some great mods to it. Gotta love the Zetec :D have a 98 ZX2 with some bolt on's and lowered. Hows the fuel mileage with it after the supercharger?
