I got the breather tube with it. The breather tube ran up to the shifter area, but the end of the tube is plugged with something, I dont really think it should be plugged...breather tube maybe?
you'll want one on there if it was.
Would my Explorers 1354 electric transfer case have them there ?haha, oh.
speedo cable
When did them VSS's first appear in RBV's?by the looks of it, you pulled the VSS halfway out of the t-case. you might have to take the one out of your transfer case and put it in the new one. but everything will be interchangeable.
His '93 Explorer does not have a VSS, it is a gear setup. The speedo cable has a gear on the end o fit which is turned by a gear on the output shaft of the transfer case.yep, it should be plug and play.

and that will ensure your speedometer is correct as well, in case the donor truck had different size tires or gearing.
i was actually referring to the mechanical end of the speedo cable. its called a VSS as well (im pretty sure). im not sure when the electrical VSS first came aboot, probably aboot the time fuel injection did (that VSS is used by the PCM). my '93 has one.
